The raman effect is one, after ind. physicist Ch. Raman (* 1888, +1970) designated feature, after mono chromate. Light, which is strewn at subject, beside which irradiated spectral line also weaker lines of the illuminated substance exhibits. Typical applications of the RAMAN spectroscopy are the structure regulation, the qualitative analysis of multi component systems and the quantitative analysis.
